    Kathmandu/  A delegation from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) undertook a significant visit to several key ministries in Nepal today. The visit was aimed at discussing and promoting collaborative efforts between the automotive industries of India and Nepal, focusing on enhancing trade relations and technological exchanges.

    The NADA team was led by Senior Vice President Mr. Akash Golchha, Vice President Mr. Rajan Babu Shrestha, Vice President Mr. Nirakar Shrestha, Secretary Mr. Vikram Singhania, and NADA Executive Committee Member Mr. Nishan Dhakal. The SIAM delegation was led by Co-Chairperson Mr. Yash Pal Sachar and was accompanied by a team that included representatives from various sectors. Also present, NADA Association Secretary Mr. Surendra Man Pradhan and Coordinator Ms. Araju Shrestha.

    During their visit, the SIAM delegation met with key officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. The discussions focused on the growth, challenges, and potential areas of collaboration in the automotive sector between India and Nepal.

    The delegation highlighted the crucial role of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry and explored opportunities for investment, technological transfer, and the development of sustainable automotive infrastructure in Nepal.

    Several initiatives were proposed to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries, including the organization of joint forums, enhanced regulatory cooperation, and fostering mutual growth through shared expertise and resources.


    The visit concluded with both SIAM and NADA agreeing to continue their engagement and explore new avenues for cooperation. Both organizations expressed their commitment to participating in the upcoming South Asian Automotive Forum (SAAF) to be held in Nepal, further solidifying their commitment to deepening ties between the Indian and Nepali automotive industries.

    SIAM and NADA jointly agreed on future collaboration initiatives, including technology sharing and training for the automotive industry, promising significant benefits for both countries' automotive sectors.
